Chelation is the process used in industrial conditions to separate and extract metals and treat metal poisoning. To chelate is to bind a metal ion with a chemical compound in the intent to form a ring. At least in theory, a ring would not be able to adhere to any other structures (rolls off), and therefore will be flushed out of the body through the blood stream. This is what Bio Chelat is supposed to do while removing toxins from your body.
World War I saw the use of poisonous gas being used in warfare. Lewisite was the deadly concoction and there had to be a way to find a treatment for it that would remove those toxins from its victims. British Anti-Lewisite came to the rescue and provided a treatment that allowed the toxins to be naturally removed from the body. However, it had very bad side effects. While refitting Naval war ships after World War II, lead paint caused many naval personnel to suffer from lead poisoning. This time EDTA was what they used because it has no mercaptans and less severe side effects. That treatment was modified in the 60's and rapidly replaced the first two since it had way less side effects. Now it is the US standard lead, arsenic and mercury poisoning treatment. Research by the Soviets introduced another treatment which treats for mercury and arsenic. Although it is experimental with the US FDA, and a common nutritional supplement. In 1998, the US Federal Trade Commission took the ACAM to task over their advertising claims that EDTA could be used in treating heart disease. In 1999, the ACAM agreed to stop those advertisements, while EDTA is still approved by the US FDA for poison treatment. Although there are natural ingredients used in health related chelation, do not get your hopes up that the mainstream medical community is going to embrace alternative medicines, any time soon. Therefore, it is highly recommended that in regards to any health related issue, you first make an appointment to see your physician to determine if you have any health problems that could be life threatening, before you take any alternative measures. New businesses are starting up every day and they all want to make money. Although some of them do provide some excellent alternative health products, be sure you look out for yourself. Take the time to thoroughly investigate all the known data about that products ingredients and the way it is produced. The Internet is a good place to start, but there is no better medical advice than from your own family doctor. Then be sure to your physician what they know about Bio Chelat.
