The summer is my favorite season. I love the warmth of the sun's rays and I also love the great tan that I always get from it. As a matter of fact, I love the tan so much that I can't stand it when summer goes and autumn & winter arrive. Thankfully, nowadays we have spray on tans to remedy this little problem!

The market for spray on tans has gotten really big in recent years. Today's market is completely flooded with all sorts of spray tans, some good and some not so good. Some of the good ones can still give you a horrible tan if you use them incorrectly. A spray on tan will never do all the work for you!

I have many years of experience with getting good tans. I've used not only tanning sprays but also sun tan accelerators to speed up the natural process while lying on a tanning bed. I always prefer to have real sun rays shining down on me, but it's not always summer. I have compiled a small list of guidelines to stick to for optimal results.

1. Wash & Exfoliate. Before using a tan spray on yourself, scrub yourself and cleanse yourself thoroughly. Make sure to get to all the spots on your body. You don't want an uneven tan.

2. Moisturizing. Hydrate yourself from top to toe before using a tanning spray. Do this a few hours before using the spray. This way, you will make your skin ready to accept the tanning spray.

3. Experimentation. This is especially important if you are only a beginner. Never get a full body tan on your first try. Instead, experiment with a partial body tan. Figure out what your skin's shade style is before continuing with more tanning.

4. Clothes. Once you've decided which part of your body needs to get a tan, find clothes that cover the body parts that you do not want to tan. Also, make sure to wear rubber gloves in order to avoid over exposing your hands to the stuff.

If you stick to these very important guidelines, chances of your tan going wrong are greatly diminished. Keep experimenting, because there is always room for improvement!
